Training Objectives

Supply Chain Management of Donghua University is one of the first undergraduate majors in logistics established in Shanghai. It cultivates interdisciplinary and comprehensive high-quality supply chain management talents who are well-rounded in moral, intellectual and physical development, master modern supply chain management theory and technology, familiar with logistics business in domestic and international production and circulation activities, and have modern management awareness and international strategic vision. Graduates have strong foreign language, mathematical and computer application skills and are able to engage in the design, management and operation of supply chain logistics systems, international logistics operations, marketing and procurement management, planning and management of supply chain enterprises, logistics service organization, and the design of e-commerce supply chain information systems.

Practical Session

   The major focuses on the combination of industry, academia and research, and on cultivating students' ability to design logistics supply chain systems through experimental teaching sessions and internship sessions.The logistics supply chain process and simulation laboratory is equipped with teaching software systems such as third party logistics, international supply chain management, supply chain simulation, simulation and hardware facilities for warehousing and distribution logistics operation.  There are on-line experiments for professional core courses, in addition to comprehensive experimental courses such as supply chain information system design and supply chain comprehensive design and simulation; the internship session includes cognitive internship, social internship, professional internship and graduation design. Students are required to propose specific solutions to the operation of supply chain enterprises or departments in their graduation design.

Professional Features

The major was ranked 3rd in China in the 2012 ranking of first-level disciplines in undergraduate education. The major is divided into 2 modules: e-commerce supply chain management and supply chain data analysis.  With the aim of combining theory and practice with market demand, the major is geared towards training senior talents in "supply chain system design and management with information technology as the core". In addition to basic supply chain operation skills, students should also have the professional quality of overall planning and design, solution optimization, supply chain enterprise management diagnosis, etc. Through comprehensive experiments, graduation design and participation in logistics design competitions, students are led face-to-face with enterprises to propose supply chain operations and solutions for enterprises, thus improving their employability.

Graduates have a wide range of knowledge and are highly adaptable to work. The main destinations for graduates are supply chain departments of large enterprises, supply chain enterprises, government agencies, various logistics centers, distribution centers, chain enterprises, high-tech enterprises, management consulting companies, etc. They can engage in logistics system planning, design, management, customer service, logistics information system analysis and consulting, supply chain management, warehouse management, transportation management, procurement management, logistics marketing and planning, retail Enterprise coordination, etc. Graduates mainly work in logistics and supply chain departments of large manufacturing enterprises such as SAIC, Michelin Tyre, Henkel, Kraft Foods, etc.，; logistics enterprises such as Sinotrans, China Shipping, OOCL, etc., ; chain enterprises such as Suning Electric, Hualian, etc., . The employment rate exceeded 95%. Some graduates have been admitted to civil service or continue further studies.
